The principles at ABQMR have over 60 years of experience in experimental NMR and MRI. Both experimental solid state physicists by training, we have designed and built experiments from the ground up, including probes, tank circuits, amplifiers, RF electronics, digital control electronics, computer interfaces, and data acquisition and analysis software. Much of this work has been in the context of unusual experiments or applications, including experiments at low temperatures, experiments requiring ultra-high bandwidths, imaging of solids and gases, velocity fluctuation imaging, detection of signals at very low frequency, detection of very small signals, and many others. The objects of these experiments have included probing the structure and electronic properties of quasicrystalline metal hydrides, the mechanisms of segregation in flowing granular matter, the detection of underground fluids, microcoil NMR, unilateral NMR, and many others. Our colleagues at New Mexico Resonance, with whom we continue to work closely, bring more than 100 years of NMR/MRI experience to bear on an even wider range of applications, including anatomical and functional imaging of lungs, the rheological behavior of two-phase fluids, functional imaging of the brain, imaging of gases and fluids in cracks, new hardware and techniques for improving gradient performance, exercise physiology, and many others. Our colleagues at MRTechnology in Japan have pioneered new applications of MRI, including imaging of small animals, human extremities for arthritis and osteoporosis detection, salmon, ice, natural gas hydrates, etc. Odd applications and challenging experiments are our passion. We relish the challenge of figuring out how to make new measurements and can draw on our extensive and unique resources to design, build, and execute challenging experiments. We can offer the following services: · Development of new applications in NMR and MRI
· Consultation for new users of NMR and MRI
· NMR/MRI probe design and construction
